Classes and Lessons

Classes

Classes provide a great introduction to fencing and a forum for more advanced training. These classes are fun as well as educational.

Registration for all fencing classes is through our partner, the Menomonee Club for Boys and Girls.  New sessions usually begin in September, November, March/April, and June.  Windy City Fencing classes are held at the Windy City Fencing Clubhouse at the Menomonee Club’s Drucker Center, 1535 N. Dayton Street in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, an easy walk from the CTA North and Clybourn Station on the Red Line.

Please Contact Us if you have any questions about the classes.

Private Lessons

Fencers who want to advance more quickly often supplement group lessons with private one-on-one lessons. Private lessons are especially important for those fencers who want to start competing or who are already fencing at the regional, national and/or international levels.

In a private lesson, the coach focuses on building a solid foundation through mastery of basic skills as well as developing new, more advanced skills. The fencer then practices those skills in group bouts and competitions. Most beneficial is a weekly half-hour private lesson with one of the coaches.

Please contact Coach Tsanko about private lessons.

Custom Programs

Windy City has developed custom fencing programs for several schools in Chicago. Currently, Windy City is working with the British School.
