Registration for the Spring 2008 Session (March 31- June 1)
and for the Summer Session (beginning June 18) is now open. The full schedule is here.
Registration for all fencing classes is through our partner, the Menomonee Club, and new sessions usually begin in September, November, March, and June. Classes are held in our dedicated fencing room, and we're on the near North side of Chicago. Please contact us if you have any questions about the classes or which class to sign up for. We are also happy to put you on our e-mail list and let you know when registration for the next session begins.

Beginner Classes

Beginner classes are designed as a fun introduction to the basics of fencing. A class typically begins with games or other physical warm ups. Footwork practice or a group lesson may follow. Every beginner class includes some bouting, in a supportive, noncompetitive atmosphere.
Children should be 8 years old to begin fencing.
Full equipment is provided for all beginner classes.

Intermediate and Advanced Classes

Intermediate and advanced fencers may, with coach approval, join one of the Windy City Fencing teams, which practice multiple times each week.
Alternatively, older beginning students, and students interested in fewer practices each week, may join team practices once or twice a week, with coach permission.
Equipment is provided.

Private Lessons

For the fencer desiring to advance in skills, and especially to compete, private one-on-one lessons are essential. In a private lesson, the coach focuses on mastering basic skills, to build a solid foundation, and on new advanced skills to be practiced in group bouting and in competitions. One or two short private lessons each week are included as part of a team membership, but most beneficial is a half-hour private lesson, once-a-week, with one of the coaches.
Please talk to or e-mail the head coach (Tsanko) about private lessons.
